SPX Concrete - Saltwater

If you’re pouring concrete in a saltwater environment you need SPX

These mixes are optimized for saltwater exposure applications, and areas that may be exposed to high amounts of sulfate. These mixes incorporate specialty admixtures designed to resist “washout” while pouring at or near the water line minimizing segregation of the concrete resulting in a better finished product. SPXR – Saltwater applications such as boat ramps, retaining walls, footings, columns exposed to saltwater.

SPXP – Saltwater applications, same applications as SPXR but smaller rock designed for pumping long distances down to the shoreline. This mix should also be used if the slab depth is less than 3 inches.

SPXS – Sulfate exposure applications away from saltwater. For instance, areas that are commonly exposed to de-icer salts and for use in areas that contain a high sulfate content in the soil.

SPXSP – Same applications as SPXS but smaller aggregate size to enhance pumpability and increase ease of placement, recommended for use if the slab depth is less than 3 inches.
